My life began in a Christian home. It was filled with love and everything that I could ever have asked for, from my parents and the faith they showed to me and my sister. I grew up in church and was very active in church activities. However, it was during that time that I did not know the Lord. At the age of seventeen, I realized my need to ask Jesus to save me and become my Savior. I knelt down at the side of my bed and ask Jesus to save me.

It was the summer of 1983 and the same time frame, that I joined the local fire department. As I grew as a Christian, I realized that God has given me a gift; a gift of service to others through the fire department and EMS. I became an EMT Basic in 1990 and then I became an EMT Intermediate in 1997. During this time as well, I also served in the US Army as a combat medic. In 2014, the Lord allowed me to become an EMT Advanced. During all these years, my career both military and civilian, has allowed me to not only care for the physical needs of others but to be able to pray with patients in the back of ambulances and pray with family members as well.

The abilities in EMS that the Lord bestowed on me, has given me a clear insight of the mission field that He has called me into. It has not been easy at times but His grace has always been there, to give me strength and encouragement. From bandaging wounds, splinting arms or legs or simply just holding a patient's hand and given them words of peace and encouragement, the Lord has used EMS and working on an ambulance to give me the opportunity to serve others both physically and spiritually. I pray that He will continue to use the mission field of EMS, to bring others to Him and further His Kingdom.
